Boston.TV starts off my review of the developed .tv geo landscape.  Let’s first see how Boston.tv rate themselves:

Boston.TV is Boston’s premiere online video entertainment network seeking to both inform and entertain through unique and compelling video content. Boston.TV has a finger on the pulse of the city; it is your eyes and ears into the city’s hottest parties, newest restaurants, and most exciting sporting, theatre and art events. If something is happening in the city, our cameras will be there.

Unfortunately, I disagree with most of the above.

In a blog I wrote on the 3rd May , I suggested that it would take a minimum of six months to gauge whether or not Demand Medias’ promotion of the extension that began on May 1st had any meaningful success.

I still hold by that. However, these last seven days have seen sales in the .tv aftermarket that are really exciting.

One was for De.tv, a private sale that closed at $21,500. Another is Med.tv, where bidding closed today on Sedo at $13,359 (9900 Euros). Another sale was announced on the Namepro forum for $7500 – to be confirmed as soon as the wire transfer has gone through – which, according to Richard Kligman, the previous owner of the name has now taken place. The name is Alcohol.tv.
