I am absolutely baffled.  Why would someone relist a domain in an auction on eBay FOR MORE MONEY when the previous auction received zero bids.  Can you explain that to me?

The owner of IT.tv (dot tv) did just that…

Yesterday, I posted that IT.tv received a serious high $2x,xxx offer, which was later raised to $30,000.  Today, I had the opportunity to speak with James about this potential transaction and he informed me that he and his partner rejected an offer of $32,500, killing the deal.

But this story is not over folks.  I imagine the buyer, if a serious developer rather than a reseller, will return to pay the value these two are seeking, $100,000 or more.

.tv names such as IT.tv will only appreciate with time, so I imagine their asking price will follow the market.  Perhaps, James can take back the title of having the largest single .tv sale in 2007 if a transaction is completed in the next few months.

The renewal for IT.tv is up in September, 2008, so they have a little over a year before they need to plop down another $5,000 to renew the domain

(end of post)

I noticed that James informed the .tv community on NamePros that he (and one of his business partners) initially received a $25,xxx offer for IT.tv.  James commented that the offer was later increased to $30k.  The domain, according to James, carries a $5k/year renewal fee...ouch!

It seems that James believes this is one of this top domain names and many think he could fetch a six figure amount in a year or two.  No news on whether he intends on accepting anything close to the offered amount, but congratulations to James, who managed to have the capital and knowledge of the .tv extension to snag IT.tv when it was available.
