While watching videos on Revver, I discovered the new ChannelMe.tv ad campaign tonight.  The campaign is part of Demand Media’s marketing effort to promote that network and provide exposure to the .tv extension to the masses, or more specifically the MySpace crowd, which is enormous.

Recently, REVVER opened up its network to pre-roll video ads and allows the video creators to decide whether pre-roll ads run in front of the content they submit to the site.  The ad I saw was a post-roll video ad.  The ad was impressive because it was animated and did a good job of selling what a user could do with their own .tv domain name.

I was able to take 8 clear screenshots so you could an idea of the campaign, but this in no way does the campaign justice because the ad was fully animated.  I surfed REVVER a bit more and saw a different ChannelMe.tv ad as part of the campaign.  That ad flashed a bunch of prominent .tv sites.

Read OnCycling.tv Signs Distribution Deals with Joost & Blinkx

Announced on July 26th, Cycling.tv has signed distribution deals with both Joost and Blinx.

The cycling network is looking to broaden its reach, and gain new fans. That shouldn’t be too hard considering all the scandal going on with the cycling sport right now. The distribution deals include the provision of cycling and biking content, like professional cycling, as well as cycling.tv’s own programming. Cycling.tv streams live cycling news, and offers a wide array of content for on-demand viewing options. And what makes this deal more important for cycling.tv is the fact that you’ll no longer need ActiveX in order to watch the video content, if you watch it using Joost or Blinkx.

Joost has signed a similar deal with Indy500, which is also hoping to gain a larger audience. And Blinkx is moving more towards an Internet TV service itself, with plans to launch BBTV this fall

According to Richard Rosenblatt:

Demand Media has sold more than twice as many .tv domains in the last three months than VeriSign sold all of last year.

This is the statement he made at HostingCon 2007, according to thewhire.com.

Richard explained his vision of giving people what they want and bundling it with a .tv domain name:

AllThings.tv Image Octane Media Works recently launched Duvvo.com.

Its still in beta while they tinker with some new features, but I think you will like it especially if you have a growing list of RSS feeds you need to follow.

The site allows users to manage RSS feeds from multiple industry leading blogs and permits users to add and manage additional feeds they would like to monitor (including personal email, domain auction details, or other non-domain related website).

Plus, the site now features the AllThings.tv RSS feed so we had to give it a plug!

Press release on the jump.

AllThings.tv ImageThanks to the efforts of Ray and Dottie, the team behind Auctionsite.tv, Ron Jackson mentioned the upcoming online .tv auction to occur on AuctionSite.tv, August 6 - August 10, on the lowdown section of DNJournal.com.

.TV fans will be interested in an online auction of .TV domains coming up August 6-10 at AuctionSite.tv. A group of .TV aficionados banded together to develop the concept and site so the video-centric extension could have its own dedicated space in the booming

secondary market. A different set of domains will be auctioned off during each of the five days the event will run (starting at 2pm U.S. Eastern time each day). The names scheduled to go on the block include Map.tv, HS.tv, Republican.tv and hundreds of others. You can see the complete auction list here.

Read OnBig news Adapt.tv raised $10M and prepares to release new ad technology that would allow them to insert overly ads onto streaming video clips, and has begun experimenting with this ad technology with Metacafe, according to Beet.tv.

What are overlay ads?

The ads are “akin to the banners you see running at the bottom of a news or sports TV program—although the ads don’t stay in place throughout the entire clip. An example is below. These overlays are not intrusive and they provide a hyplerlink where users can click onto a sponsor and then come back to the clip.”

Read OnWhy does this matter?

Well, their tehnology will give the little guys (a.k.a. narrowcasters; i.e. not youtube, google, brightcove, etc) the ability to monetize the video content they create, giving them another revenue stream they did not have.  Many .tv developers (and potential video site developers) may feel more confident about tackling the costs of video production because they know they can monetize their content in this way.

What is the revenue split?

“The company shares revenue on the basis of the yield of the ads, and the revenue split is 70/30.”
