Read OnAs many of you know, AllThings.tv is the most frequently updated blog that covers the .tv extension exclusively (though I admit I have been busy managing my personal .tv portfolio and developments and have had less time recently).

One of the more exciting aspects of the work is conducting interviews with some players in the domain and Internet video industries (all of which are on the AllThings.tv website as blogcasts and there are even some video interviews).  Soon I will be able to add none other than GoDaddy’s founder, Bob Parsons, to the growing list of AllThings.tv interviews.  Bob Parsons is a man many associate with domain registrations, especially after the GoDaddy series of Super Bowl ads run in past years…

I wanted to share some great news!

AllThings.tv now has a computer dedicated exclusively to audio/video editing thanks to HotNames.tv, the leading .tv domain name marketplace.  I anticipate that I will be able to resume blogcasting at the rate of 1 blogcast every two weeks.  If you have ideas for blogcasts, please share your ideas in the comments section.

You will also notice that I added a Featured Blogcast section in the navigation area to the right.  Currently, it features the William Brister blogcast.  I expect to feature new (and old)blogcasts here.

I know your time is valuable so you have probably noticed that I end short blog entries with “(end of post)” so you know that there is no more content on the next page.  As the phrase implies, that is the end of the blog entry.

There are some exciting things in the works and I invite welcome your input.  Please do not hesitate in commenting on the blog entries...I take what you say seriously and often get my ideas for future blogs.

(end of post)

After more than 14 days, I am now back in Southern California after spending some time on the Colorado River in Arizona and in the panhandle of Florida.

While it was intended as a vacation, I could not help but dream about different development opportunities for some of my names including boat.tv, powerboat.tv, and jetski.tv.  I was a bit surprised when I noticed guys younger than me driving boats worth $xxx, xxx; it turns out that anybody with decent credit can buy a boat with a 20 year payment plan, similar to a house...who knew.  I shared some of those ideas with watercraft owners and the feedback was very positive.

More on the jump…

As of today, James Barclay left AllThings.tv to pursue other, unrelated development opportunities.  It is sad to see him go, but the future holds big things for him and I wish him luck.  Please leave him your thoughts and farewell comments.

I will be on vacation through mid-July so if you do not see any new posts between now and then, then you know why.  I will do my best to update the blog when I can find some time and an Internet connection.  I have a few interviews that are being lined up that I hope to post about in the next few weeks when the dates are firmed up.

In the meantime, if you need to reach me, drop me an email through the contact us page.

Whilst I am always going to have a strong affiliation to the .tv extension, it is not the only domain that I am invested in. I have some .com traffic domains aswell as some .mobi names.

My feelings on the .mobi land rush back in 2006 is that I gambled and gambled wrong. To me this was an extension that made little sense given that a .com could work just aswell for a small mobile screen as it could for the laptop and desktop, so why would anyone want to tap in a four letter extension on a tiny keyboard when three would do and when com was and is still king.

And so I registered just one domain, GHETTO.mobi. And to be honest, even that was more of a “just to say I was there” reg than anything else.

Well, May 1st has come and gone and tomorrow wraps up the last day of the Always On conference. It was this conference that Demand Media used as its launch pad for their .tv promotional campaign.

I am still trying to gauge whether or not the launch was as successful as Demand Media had hoped for.

There is no reason to suggest it was not a success, it is just too early to tell, and the dust has yet to settle.

One of the benefits Kevin enjoys in life is living in Socal, an area that has probably got more video cameras per square mile than most places on planet earth!!

Another benefit is living just 45 minutes away from the Always On conference. Getting a press pass proved to be a doddle for someone with Kevin’s schmoozing skills, but could he get the all important interviews with the industry movers and shakers?!

I am pleased to tell our readers that we will have some really good video interviews to post on Allthings.tv over the next week or so. Kevin has refused to take all of my phone calls and has locked himself away in his video editing studio (his bedroom) and is working around the clock to (gets up at 2.00pm works until 4.00am) get the footage onto Allthings.tv.

I will keep our readers posted on Kevin’s progress.

A quick announcement to all of our regular guests and those who have come to Allthings.tv for the first time.

We are but a few days away from where we want to be as far as producing quality, thought provoking blogs on a DAILY basis.

Right now, we are dealing with a huge project that involves upgrading our software to create a vastly superior look to our website aswell as giving us more powerful tools to allow for a more interactive experience for our viewers, authors and admin.

Hopefully, this will be completed by early next week and then I can concentrate on what I do best, providing my readers with the best Web 2.0 stories out there on the net, securing the best interviews to be had and being a part of the Web 2.0 forum that holds so much promise.
