Just three weeks ago I was enjoying the limelight for being part owner of DE.tv which sold for a record $21,500. Not anymore. Friday the 1st June Surface.tv sold for $27,000 to a buyer called “ Marksmen”.
There is a strong suspicion that the buyer is acting as a broker for Microsoft. The reason for this suspicion is the timing of the sale. Negotiations for the sale of Surface.tv had reached its final stages when Bill Gates revealed Microsoft’s latest computer, the Surface, at the AllthingsD conference.
The size of a coffee table and not due for public release for at least another three to five years, this behemoth of a computer does things that are incredibly on the eyes. Just watch the link to the video of the Surface computer and you will understand what I mean.
I hope to be able to discuss the sale of Surface.tv with the seller in the near future, so stay tuned.

I think the .tv extension is a possible goldmine for anyone who does a little research, and picks a good name. Of course, I recently sold Uv.tv on http://www.Sedo.com for $4,355! I thought the domain was worth more than that, but was still very happy with the sale. It helped me very much to enjoy a previously booked 8 day, 7 night trip to Hawaii, the big island. It you have never been to Hawaii, you can easily spend $1000 in a couple of days, if you want to enjoy the snorkeling, helicopter tours, and all the other guided trips. I am talking about already having paid for the hotel, etc.
So, the payment from Uv.tv came in at the right time, while I was in Hawaii.
I already regged a few more .tv’s, none are premium, however. I wish I could afford those, but will stick to regular reg’s though. I am taking advantage of using http://www.Me.tv, to help promote these new regs.
To anyone new, or those still waiting for a good sale, just be patient. It will come.
Thanks
Frank
Frank,
You took a big risk with such a low reserve, but your gamble paid off in the final days and minutes.....which goes to show the inherent value of LL.TV.
I am glad you managed to put the money to good use - FUN!! something alot of us forget as we constantly search for that BIG MOMMA of a reg......
Sales will come as you said, offers are already coming....and as Jeremy Allaire witnessed in his interview with Allthings.....more and more .tv companies are signing up to the BrightCove network.........
The revolution has begun....it will only gather pace over the coming months and years.
I would say we are at the year 1998 as a comparative to the .com and where it went from there by the year 2006......so there is still some time to go for .tv to fully mature.....but its an unstoppable phenomenon
Good to count you as a friend Frank
James
Congrats James on the sale of DE.TV...and to you Frank also for the sale of UV.TV. Although I have some real concerns, I do like the .TV extension so it’s great to see some sales taking place.
This is just another sale, we still have some pending sale. If this push through, that’s another good sale for .TV and good sign for .TV investors.
Inevitably .tv domains are the main way forward for the internet. We ae constantly receiving offers for our developed website at http://www.warcrimes.tv. The future for .tv is bright and guaranteed and the future elite of .tv entrpreneurs is likely to grow from mostly .tv companies.
Lets see who sparks off the next big story…
Regards,
Frederick.
$27,000? Try $600,000…
There are soooooo many .tv domains that have sold that never make the charts, (believe me I know) like Property.tv that sold for $100,000 this year...not to mention RealEstate.TV is currently FOR SALE with a $1,000,000 price tag. Speaking of $1,000,000 price tags, Global.TV and LasVegas.TV also fit into that category. Pay.TV could be yours for $500,000, same as News.TV or Business.TV. NewZealand.TV? $65k. Japan.TV $50k (annually) Texas.TV $50k (annually)...Even Jamaica.TV or CostaRica.TV could be yours for $25,000 each. Ps: Rumors have it, Chicago.TV have turned down HUGE (xxx, xxx) offers, similar to Dallas.TV and Miami.TV. Just look at what Boston.TV, Tulsa.TV and Montreal.TV are doing...this could get big...fast! If you figure the .com versions of these names are making hundreds of thousands of dollars ANNNUALLY, just think what the .tv domain in the right hands could do...which brings me to my final case and point. HamptonRoads.TV or Macon.TV are owned and operated by media companies...then do the WHOIS lookup on these domains-Atlanta.TV, Seattle.TV, Memphis.TV, LittleRock.TV, Tampa.TV, Baltimore.TV, Richmond.TV, Norfolk.TV, Hampton.TV...and let me know what you find. Ps: Great news! Atlanta.TV can be yours today!....for $7,000,000. There are SEVERAL xx,xxx .tv sales I could mention...what ever happened to the reporting of the “Vegas.TV” sale for $350,000 in 2003 !?!
My point is, so many people have no clue about the “real value”...or should I say, “opportunity LOST” by not having one of these generic .tv domains. I wish there was “ONE” Universal reporting system for ALL .tv domain sales...and that even when they sell with NDA, that people would report the ownership change anyway.
