The following domain names are up for auction at Sedo.com. Each name is followed by the amount bid (converted to US dollars if the native currency is not USD), the number of bids, the time remaining in the auction, whether the reserve has been met, and any unique hits if specified by Sedo. All auctions still have two or more days remaining before they close:
cash.tv--------$7,365--1--2d 45m------(reserve met)
british.tv------$1,378--11-2d 22h 42m-(reserve NOT met)--219 unique visitors per month
webb.tv-------$125----1--3d 5h 42m---(reserve met)--55 unique visitors per month
fantasias.tv---$1,378--1--4d 11h 1m---(reserve met)--515 unique visitors a month
erection.tv----$2,000--1--5d 5h 28m---(reserve met)
oral.tv---------$2,750--1--5d 5h 42m---(reserve met)
First and foremost, I would want to know whether any .tv names carry premium pricing under the Verisign pricing structure before I even considered bidding on them because renewal pricing influences a domain’s value more in the .tv extension than other extensions…
Using enomcentral.com, I am able to gather some more information about these names that is not specified in the auction. The annual renewals of these domains in USD, assuming no discounts have been granted to the original registrant and that person did not let the domain return to the domain pool, are:
Cash.tv: $5,000
British.tv: $3,000
Webb.tv is not a premium name under the Verisign pricing structure
Fantasias.tv is not a premium name under the Verisign pricing structure
Erection.tv: $250
Oral.tv: $1,000
Cash.tv is just big because it has so many potential uses, the world is driven by money (cash), and people always want more cash.
By the looks of it, british.tv is most popular with 11 bids, but the amount bid on british.tv greatly lags behind the amount bid on cash.tv by a difference of about $6,000. Given the popularity of Geography related .tv domain names, I would expect to see the bid price for British.tv to climb (if the auction has been marketed well). I remember encountering a comment from a well respected .tv domainer about Overture results. He said he would buy any .tv name that produced results greater than 100 for the term and the TV extension.
For example, if he searched “British TV” and it produced 706 results as it did for me today when I did a search, then he would buy that domain because people are naturally searching for British TV, which means any website developed on British.tv would stand a better change at receiveing a decent amount of RELEVANT type-in traffic and great search engine positioning. (Just a side note, but if you type in just the term “TV”, you get 100 results with different search counts. If you converted each one to a .tv name and then attempted to bulk register them with a service such as Moniker.com, then you would find only 9 of those available and even those are not terribly attractive (tvwallmount.tv, radiorepair.tv, samsunglcd.tv, watchfreetvonline.tv, watchlivetvforfreeonline.tv, and panasonicplasma.tv to name a few)).
Webb.tv does nothing for me. Perhaps it would be great for one of the many Webb families that might want their own site, possibly making webb.tv a great candidate for the free tools at me.tv. Even Webb.com delivers nothing of interest to me as a websurfer.
According to Dictionary.com, fantasia(s) has an english meaning:
1. A free composition structured according to the composer’s fancy. Also called fantasy.
2. A medley of familiar themes, with variations and interludes.
I imagine there must be some other meaning for fantasias perhaps in some other language. Otherwise, it would be difficult to understand the four figure price currently offered and the amount of traffic it is receiving. Using the WayBackMachine supported by Archive.org, the domain’s history stretches back as early as July 20, 2001. Looking at some of the content, it appears that the domain was used in the adult entertainment field and catered to both english and spanish speaking websurfers.
Chances are that erection.tv and oral.tv are also receiving $x,xxx bids so early in the bidding process because of their adult nature, although I can envision erection.tv being used to advertise some sort of viagra like medication and oral.tv being used in the ortho/dental fields.
Unless you were into adult domains, I would place my bets on cash.tv and british.tv. They have the greatest future potential in spite of the premium renewal prices they carry.

It’s just like having TV traffic, the same thing, more visitors more pricey the commercials will be -> more money.
