More and more television stations, entertainment companies, sports organizations, and even media companies are harnessing the power of video on the Internet.  We can now add apparel and clothing companies to that list as well.

Haggar Clothing Co. was started 80 years ago to supply working men with quality apparel.

Today, they are leveraging the power of video on the Internet by releasing viral video ads designed to appeal to the male demographic that buy their clothing.  Pete and Red star in the video ads and are portrayed as “fearless, suburban heroes.”

They tackle loud radios, car-washing, your daughter’s “good for nothin’ boyfriend,” and offer us new solutions to the perpetually late cable guy, some un-neighborly conduct and common parking hassle.

The purpose of the ads is to show these two guys taking “on the same, everyday nuisances that have driven” the typical man “crazy and turn them around, all while wearing Haggar clothing and “looking great.”

You have to agree that it is great to see a company like Haggar embracing this technology to reach their clientele regardless of whether you would buy their clothing (assuming you are a man).  More videos and the press release on the jump (Warning: Some Videos Not Work Safe Due to Language).

Video: Baby Boomer Heroes Pete and Red Address More Pet Peeves in Second Round of Haggar TV Ads

Ever been stood up by the cable guy, only to get a little attitude when you ask him about it?

Got a neighbor with a yard that would take a machete to get through?

Pete and Red are back to continue “Making Things Right” in the new installments of Haggar’s riotous and groundbreaking TV commercials created by Crispin Porter + Bogusky. These fearless, suburban heroes who tackled loud radios, car-washing, and your daughter’s “good for nothin’ boyfriend,” offer us new solutions to the perpetually late cable guy, some un-neighborly conduct and a common parking hassle. They take on the same, everyday nuisances that have driven all of us crazy and turn them around, all the while wearing their favorite Haggar clothing and looking great. The unbreakable buttons, unbustable seams, no-wrinkle fabric and comfort waistbands give them the flexibility and confidence to right these societal wrongs without looking like they’ve lifted a finger.

Haggar’s embrace of the authentic Baby Boomer man is a first in fashion, which usually courts the young, trendy 20-something. Instead, with Pete and Red, they’ve finally given a voice and a face to the guy who feels more comfortable with his toolbox or his backyard grill than he does with “fashion.” These are guys who want to stand up and fight the battles they deal with in their world, and now they have some buddies and clothing that promises them “Quality for Life.”

Haggar’s commitment to product quality and the strong representation of these day-to-day plights make this campaign a force to be reckoned with. After all, doesn’t everyone wish they had a Pete and Red to save the day? Maybe they already do.

Just imagine the look on your neighbor’s face when these guys (or another everyday hero) show up.
