Ready to broadcast your own tv show? And I mean live broadcast.

All you need is Mogulus, the internet, and a webcam, along with your talent and passion to communicate…..reads the wording on the Mogulus website.

Right now Mogulus is in serious Beta mode. The 700 beta applicants granted an authorization code to broadcast their own channel as of May 23rd can only do so on the Mogulus network.

A bit further down the road, Mogulus states “we plan to choose the best channels and allow the producer to embed the Mogulus viewer on their website or blog. This will give anybody on the internet a sneak peek at the great channels Mogulus can help create, even though we haven’t fully launched yet.”

Applicants had an opportunity for a presentation and Q&A session with Mogulus founder and CEO Max Haot during a Mogulus live broadcast on May 22nd. Despite the irony of the broadcast going down during the first four minutes, Max was quick to point out that the broadcast was not using Mogulus technology rather an Adobe platform!

Mogulus will provide two versions of their technology. There is a free version, which will include 10 to 15 second of commercial advertisements every 8 minutes and Mogulus Pro, which you pay for, which allows you to monetize your channel how you wish, either with your own advertising or no advertising at all.

The race is on and there is competition. Ustream.tv, another company in the same line of business, is also in Beta mode. Some of you may actually have logged onto Allthings.tv and noticed Kevin and myself testing the technology out.

They are also offering you the ability to launch your own free chat show and are busy working out all the bugs and what not.

This live broadcasting technology adds a whole new dimension to the .tv extension. Its one thing to have your own channel filled with great video content, its quite another to have live broadcasting. For sites that will broadcast, .tv surely is the “must have” extension, beating .com. The king is dead, long live the king!
