I am absolutely baffled.  Why would someone relist a domain in an auction on eBay FOR MORE MONEY when the previous auction received zero bids.  Can you explain that to me?

The owner of IT.tv (dot tv) did just that…

The auction was originally for $10,700.

No bids were made...and the seller relisted it for $175 more than the original asking price!  Nevermind the excessive $5,000 renewal that Verisign wants for that domain name, the seller is asking $10,875 for a domain with only a few months left in its registration before it must be renewed on or before 9/2008 when the potential buyer needs to cough up another $5,000.

For having no income or traffic to speak of (if its not stated, assume close to zero), isn’t this like an instant loss to the buyer?  I guess the moral of this story is that if you don’t pick this up during this seven day auction, then you will end up paying more during the next seven day auction so jump on it now! Seller accepts wire transfer, certified funds, or paypal.  smile

This domain has a rich history since my previous partner, James, maintained a 50% interest in it.  After giving up that interest to the same partner in exchange for the 50% interest his partner had in education.tv, they parted ways each with their own domain.  If you can believe James, then it seems like these guys lost out on a huge sale and quick profit...check it out yourself.

Watch out for the domains with high renewals...they can bite you!
