The holidays have not paralyzed the interest of potential dot tv domain name buyers.
Tipped off by Ray on NamePros, DNJournal reported four .tv sales that might surprise you:
Jazzon.tv $4433 SEDO
Arzt.tv $2931 SEDO
Conciertos.tv $1500 SEDO
ChristianRock.tv $1116 TDNAM
Read my thoughts on the jump!
JazzOn.tv is a double-word dot tv name, Arzt.tv is a four-letter dot tv name (rumored to mean doctor in German), Conciertos is a single-word dot tv name that means concerts in Spanish, and ChristianRock.tv is a two-word dot tv name. The prices paid for these non-generic domain names suggests that the demand for dot tv names in the aftermarket is greater than even I expected at the moment. Could this be a fluke? Definitely. Is it likely a fluke? Probably not. If you have observed the traffic in the dot tv subforum of NamePros lately, then you know its more than double what it was six months ago and the level of interactivity among its frequent members is greater than I have ever seen it. The dot tv subforum is not the ONLY place and I continue to see discussions of dot tv names taking place with greater frequency and in greater depth across a variety of domain name sites that I monitor.
My feeling is that dot tv could post some decent sales in Q1 and Q2 of 2008 as more of the early investors in dot tv names take their gains and invest that capital in developing dot tv sites or to further the development of their existing dot tv sites. Buyers would do sell to begin sniffing in all the places where dot tv names can be listed for sale, looking for some great deals to jump on. Sellers would be benefited most by selecting more than one spot to advertise the sale of their dot tv names for more exposure in an effort to attract more bids; obviously a buyer is the only who benefits from a seller who invests little or no effort to advertise the availability of their domain name.
Speaking of places to sell your dot tv name, SEDO continues to be one of the larger domain name aftermarket spaces for dot tv names, but I cannot say that I have heard reports of similar activity on TDNAM.
What do you think? When will be a prime time to buy/sell dot tv domain names in the aftermarket in the next twelve months?
