Did you play Monopoly when you were a kid?
Did you play it alot?
Do you remember how you felt initially about buying Boardwalk (Mayfair) and Park Place (Park Lane)?
They were too expensive, right?
Some of the names in the .tv extension are like Boardwalk and Park Place in Monopoly. It might cost more in the beginning to own and develop these properties...but once you saw the competitive advantage they gave any player in the game, you suddenly felt different about acquiring them. In fact, your strategy changed and you wanted these properties first if the opportunity to buy fell into your lap.
If you could acquire these two properties, then you get a serious leg up on your competition, or that was your opportunity to get yourself back in the game if another player acquired monopolies before you did.
With the right kind of development and marketing you can create some real cash cows out of these .tv names. As early adopters of the extension (but possibly late to the game of domaining), those holding .tv properties are holding some of the highest worth domain names when you realize that the Internet is incredibly young.
Did you ever play long enough to see one player with cash generated from hotels on a variety of his/her monopolies make a bid to buy Boardwalk and Park Place from another player who did not get the jump soon enough or have the luck of getting enough traffic?
That was the .com investor buying out the .tv investor who didn’t have enough money to develop those properties, generate traffic to them, and make them the hits they can be.
I am hearing that some serious .com investors are now opening their eyes to .tv...are you really surprised? The .tv extension is a logical investment if you know how to win at Monopoly.

Great post, I have http://www.CityofToronto.tv (toronto.tv would have been the better name to use, but on the same token city of toronto is the official name, and Toronto is also located in California. and many of the major urban areas in the Toronto Area, http://www.Markham.tv, the worlds fastest growing community, and also http://www.YongeStreet.tv, Worlds longest street, and Toronto’s newsest live entertainment venue area (compare to new yorks time square) , not mention the thousand of Vendors and stores that are located on this strip and could advertise for a better advantage on unknowing tourists.
So this Monopoly post in fact makes total sense. Bravo
GREAT JOB ON THE SITE!!!!
Congrats, geos are some of the best plays in the .tv field. I think street names are good at reg prices, but whatever it is about that street better be good...think rodeodrive.tv.
