Some domainers are speculators, some domainers are developers, and some are both, but many have no idea what they are yet. Many are still developing a valuable network of personal and business contacts that will help them along whatever path they ultimately pursue.
Because it is likely that most domainers will take a shot at developing at least once, and that development could be a co-development project with a corporation or another individual, every domainer should do their research when negotiating the various rights related to a specific project.
I came across an article that briefly touched upon one company’s approach to developing a quality domain owned by another party (or at least that is what I assumed from the context) and I thought I would share that information here.
While on a panel at The DOMAINfest Global program, there was a two-hour afternoon seminar on “Building a Business from a Domain” with a five-man panel, which included Brian Benko of NoParking.com.
“Benko’s company will develop and manage a website on a quality domain name for a…

I came across the following quote during some reading on dnjournal.com and thought I would relay it to our .tv followers:
“I moderated the second afternoon session on the Future of the Domain Name Aftermarket and had the good fortune to be assigned a panel that included Sedo.com CEO and Co-Founder Tim Schumacher, SnapNames.com Vice President Mason Cole and Fabulous.com COO Dan Warner, all widely recognized experts on this topic.
Schumacher said the market trends they were seeing at Sedo included diversification (into multiple TLDs), internationalization, lower transaction costs and higher levels of sophistication among buyers. At the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. East conference in October, Schumacher introduced a domain rating system similar to the stock market’s Buy – Sell – Hold ratings. Schumacher currently has Buy ratings on .info, .us and other major ccTLDs and IDNs. He rates .com, .net and .eu as Holds (.eu was downgraded from a Buy rating in October). Schumacher advises selling .biz, .cc, .ws and .tv.
Naming names in that manner will obviously make some people happy and leave others annoyed. There has been a lot of buzz around .tv this year since DemandMedia’s eNom has taken over management of the registry from Verisign with big marketing plans ahead (starting with a .tv relaunch dinner in Las Vegas next month that I will be attending)…

As 2007 moves onward toward the end of its first quarter, my fingerprints are wearing away as I spend more and more time on Enom.tv trying to find anything decent worth registering.
Whilst other domainers are still climbing on board the .tv registration train, I have definitely jumped off the train and on to the safety of the platform.
Watching the train move onward, I am wondering where the final destination is for all these domainers still on board. I wish them well, but I do not fancy their odds.

The Attorney Generals of 23 different states sent a letter to Anheuser-Busch Cos., a well-known St. Louis-based brewer, “strongly [encouraging]” Anheuser-Busch to implement a more effective age-verification tool on its new Bud.tv site, which features “beer-themed shows, sports events and muscial acts 24 hours a day on the Internet.”
Apparently, these attorneys felt that asking for name, zip code, and birthdate to run a cross check against public records to verify the user’s age was an inadequate. They want other safeguards that could significantly dissuade people from continuing onto to the site and hampering Bud.tv’s marketing efforts; Bud.tv was the first .tv website ever advertised in a Super Bowl in February of 2007.

In my daily search for quality .tv websites, I came across a site called Bangarang.tv. The most immediate features of this website that grabbed my attention are its weird name and stunning artwork. Curious, I begin to explore the .tv website.
Initially, I notice that the site uses the Brightcove video platform to stream videos to site visitors. I also notice the “art house” feel you get when viewing the videos on Bangarang.tv.
