AVN: FBI “Raided National A-1 Advertising”
Wonder what happened here. This firm definitely has been a huge player and very active in the domain space.

AVN: FBI “Raided National A-1 Advertising”
According to an article appearing on the adult news site AVN and also appearing on XBIZ newswire, the offices of National A-1 Advertising in Philadelphia were subject to an FBI investigation today. The company operates a number of adult websites in addition to its portfolio of generic mainstream domain names.
It appears that some of their generic domain names such as Antiques.com, Diet.com, Contests.com, Seminars.com, Talking.com, and others are not currently operational.
The folks who operate National A-1 Advertising have always been helpful to me in offering advice and insight into the domain investment business, and I hope they are able to sort things out quickly. National A-1 is also an advertiser on this and other domain investment blogs.
I have reached out to the company for comment and will post a follow up when possible.

AVN.com Has just updated its story on the raid on National A-1 this morning.
According to the updated story, the Local CBS affiliate is reporting, that the raid was related to a prostitution ring investigation.”
and according to the new report it could be the National A-1 owned site Escorts.com, that could be the issue rather than HotMovies.com
AVN quoted a special agent of the FBI, Special Agent J.J. Klaver who said:
“Any information about the raid will only come from the U.S. Attorney’s office, not our office, and it will probably not be today, or for quite a while.”
Initially our thoughts went to a possible record keeping violation under US code 2257, but if this new report is correct it could be an outgrowth of the government crackdown on escort advertising which lead Craigslist.com to withdraw the adult/escort section of their site last month.
Another service, backpage.com announced recently that it was going to block some sections of its highly popular personal section.
